Cyclocross - it's that time of year

Evidence that I did take part in a cyclocross race (thanks to Minerva for the photo). Yes.... I did use a mtn bike, but I had a great time. Full Moon Vista put on a great race. I was only able to make it to the Cobbs Hill race. The race was pretty grueling. It probably wasn't too much of a disadvantage that I didn't have a cross bike with some of the climbing and singletrack. I'm hoping to get out to the race at Kissing Bridge in a couple weeks. I'm sure I'll be way out of form then - much suffering to come...

New Blog

So, here goes. What is South Wedge Cycling (hereafter to be known as SWC)? It is the combination of two things I love - cycling and the city of Rochester. Yeah, yeah, sounds corny, I know. But the idea of revitalizing the inner city of Rochester is something that excites me - and the south wedge is one area that is helping to lead the way. And what better way to promote that idea than by using something that I love doing - cycling. My hope is to partner together with some of the cornerstone companies, non-profits, and other organizations in the wedge. We can offer a great way to get the word out that the wedge is a fantastic place to wine, dine and have a great time. The team will regularly race (thru GVCC weekly races, latte rides, etc.) with 50-75 other local guys, get our team name (and hence any sponsors) on the GVCC website which has a HUGE (thanks fucillo) audience, and travel to local races (Syracuse, Corning, etc.). In return, we're looking for a small budget to buy some cycling threads - that's it! The idea is still fresh and mushy in my brain - many details to work out. We'll see in the weeks to come.
